The LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber can be used for the selection of new materials, improvement of existing materials or evaluation of changes in durability after changes in material composition. The practical use of the LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber is not only to simulate the sunlight environment, it can also simulate different environmental conditions such as climate environment, and is used to study the changes of materials under different humidity environments. In general, the LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber is divided into four major types of simulation tests.

xenon weathering test chamber

Simulate the full sunlight spectrum

The LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber measures the light resistance of the material by exposing the material to ultraviolet (UV), visible and infrared light. It uses a filtered xenon arc lamp to produce a full sunlight spectrum that has the greatest agreement with sunlight. Xenon arc lamp with reasonable filtering treatment is a way to test the sensitivity of the product to the ultraviolet and visible light in the longer wavelength range in direct light or sunlight passing through the glass.

Xenon lamps emit light by using xenon discharge. The xenon arc lamp has a radiation spectrum close to daylight, suitable for large-area lighting, and can also be used as a light source for film photography, color photoengraving, copying, etc. At the same time, it is used in color inspection of cotton fabrics, aging tests of drugs and plastics, plant cultivation, It can also be used as a light source to simulate sunlight and artificial aging in photochemical reaction and other aspects. In addition, high-power long-arc xenon lamps can also be used as continuous laser light sources.

Lightfastness test of indoor materials

Due to long-term exposure to fluorescent lamps, halogen lamps or other light-emitting lamps, products placed in retail locations, warehouses or other environments will also experience significant photodegradation. The LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber can simulate and reproduce the destructive light generated in such commercial lighting environments, and can accelerate the test process with higher intensity.

Lightfastness refers to the color stability (COLOR STABILITY) or the pigment's ability to resist the sun when exposed to sunlight, without fading or changing colors. Paintings made with real light-resistant pigments are generally not exposed to open sunlight. The paintings are placed indoors and will not be exposed to direct sunlight.

Simulated climate environment

In addition to the photodegradation test, the LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber can also become a climate aging test chamber by adding a water spray option to simulate the impact of outdoor moisture on the material. Using the water spray function greatly expands the climatic and environmental conditions that the device can simulate.

To deal with the humid weather in the south, open doors and windows as little as possible to reduce the entry of humid outside air into the room. During the rainy season, the humidity in the air may reach more than 90%. This means opening doors and windows less and ensuring a certain amount of ventilation. It is still necessary to equip a dehumidifier in a humid climate. When the air is too humid, the effect of using a dehumidifier to dehumidify is still very good, which can reduce the moisture absorption of bedding furniture to a certain extent.

Relative humidity control

Relative humidity refers to the percentage of the water vapor pressure in the air and the saturated water vapor pressure at the same temperature. Or the ratio of the absolute humidity of the humid air to the maximum absolute humidity that can be achieved at the same temperature. It can also be expressed as the ratio of the partial pressure of water vapor in humid air to the saturation pressure of water at the same temperature.

The LIB xenon lamp aging test chamber provides relative humidity control. For many materials that are sensitive to humidity, this function is very important, and many test protocols also require humidity control. Humidity is not just a knowledge of production engineering, it even seems to be closely related to people's lives.
